In a farmhouse near Calais, a lonely English girl pieces together the life of the legendary Admiral Nelson - the loving godparent she learnt was actually her father only after his death. What no one tells Horatia is that the woman who has led her into exile, Nelson's mistress Emma Hamilton, is also her mother. In this absorbing, poignant novel, an intimate light is cast on the most celebrated couple of their age. But while Nelson and Emma's story of extraordinary success and grand passion ends in heartbreak, the tale of their secret daughter becomes one of spirited survival.
Everyone who knows me knows that I love romantic/psychologics storys. I really do. So, when I started reading of couple of days ago and I was looking for a relatively short or medium book, I decided to pick up Nelson´s Daughter.
And what a world it is! The story set in back an English country. And, hay readers, I must say one sentence: I love this story, really, really do.
Nelson´s Daughter is a delighful, refreshingly original story in a skifully crafted setting with perfect description of places, situations and persons. Book have simple language, but wich one reads itself. The text is clear, beautiful and pages ticking under your fingers.
I liked story about capitan Nelson and his amatory life. About his family and his daughter. I read this book in just one day and I really enjoyed it.
So...if you have a chance read this book, do it. You can trust me, this book is really beautiful. And I can´t forgot: this book cover is definitely one of my favourite...
